Chapter 1: Reason for College

It's really funny that the first question that the book asks is why are you here.  Several times I've asked my self the same question and this is what I get: I'm here because I want to be a computer engineer and the way I get that is through college. And if I finish college, the computer field opens up immensely.  I can't really say what kind of experience that I want with college because I'm a freshmen, so I don't really know how college works, but this I do know:  college takes dedication to studying and so far that's the experience that I'm expecting for the whole semester. I'm hoping that I'll have enough time to go to events on campus, I'll have to see how my schedule works out.  I really don't have anything to lose since I'm still living at my house and I don't have a job, so I guess the only thing that I have to lose to get through college is time and effort.

  1. I agree with you.
College can be overwhelming at times, and I know that it's for our own good. We just need to make the best of it and hope our goals are acheived. Don't feel overwhelmed; just take it little by little and stride.
After all, with just a bit of time and effort I'm sure we College Kids can succeed in just about anything.

Then again I guess that's true for just about any dream; wouldn't you agree?

  2. I wish I could go back in time and give Freshman Me some advice on how to handle college. I was always the kid who made good grades in elementary - high school without even trying, and that made it difficult in college because I wasn't used to having to study so hard and do the homework. Good luck this semester!

  3. I've asked myself that same question to and college just seems to be the best option. You think you could do this or that but for me it was clear. Get in to college first and then figure out what comes next. I agree with you on the what to expect part to. All we can do is wait and see.
